The Cadet Class, although not the closest in points leading into the final round, developed into a nail biting finish to the series.  Joel Herbert was flying at Bay of Plenty and after posting three wins in the first three heats had made up the points deficit to Kaitlyn Wonnacott, who had been tracking Herbert’s rear bumper for most of the day.  Going into the final race of the series these two drivers were on equal points.  Wonnacott won the final race and took the series win by just one point.  Herbert took the round win and second place overall.  Mitchell Turner was in third place both for the round and the series.

Fifteen Junior Restricted drivers hit the track, with a large local contingent flying the BOP Club banner.  Another flyer of the weekend was Aaron Hodgson; four wins from four starts which moved him up to second place overall behind Andy Schofield who finished third for the day.  Arie Hutton took third place in the series.

Junior Yamaha had developed into a battle between Mathew Kinsman, Mitchell Evans & David Meszaros; Kinsman defending his 2006 title.  Heading into the final round two points separated the top two.  The round result of Kinsman, Evans & Meszaros was the same as the overall series result.

Heading into the final round in fifth place overall Joel Thrupp, in Formula Junior, was consistent enough to take the round win at BOP and this boosted his overall placing to third behind Tom Blomqvist and Mitchell Evans.

Bay of Plenty drivers dominated Senior Yamaha Light, taking the top three placings on the day and also for the series.  Daniel Dufty won the round from Jason Catley and Justin Herbert but it was Catley taking the series win from Herbert and Matthew Bufton.

The Kendall brothers of Leyton & Dion took brotherhood to the next level in Senior Yamaha Heavy.  At the final round they dead heated on points but it was Leyton who prevailed for the series win, successfully defending his 2006 Top Half title.  Charles Hoare finished third.

Kane Taylor revels at Bay of Plenty and at this final round of the Top Half Series Taylor dominated the Senior Rotax Light class once again.  He took both the round & series wins from Simon Evans & Ethan de Jong to repeat his success from 2006.

Senior Rotax Heavy saw another driver, Phillip Saunders, successfully defend his 2006 title.  Saunders did not finish outside the top two in any race at the final round consolidating  comfortable wins in both the round & series from Mike Grimshaw & Alan Sherris.

Senior Open saw the three stalwarts of this years class continue to run to form & share the wins around.  Shane Hodgson took the round win from Simon Evans & Craig Toy with the overall results going to Evans, Toy, then Hodgson.

The Top Half Series also runs the Great Challenge Of The Clubs.  This year Bay of Plenty Kart Club took the honours.
