Stewards Corner !

We thought it is time we had this corner to bring you up to date on what we are thinking.

The Club Champs this year saw two great weekends racing and some very deserving Club Champions, and we were delighted to award again the Snow Neilson Memorial Trophy.
We were very lucky with the weather, even though it was very cold in the mornings. Guess we can’t have it both ways.

It is now time to turn our attention to clubs days, and then the big one for the year – The 3 Way Series.

Again we had to race using the old flags – still not sure when we will have the new ones – but we will all be surprised when they arrive.

What a great team of officials we have at Mt Wellington. Ladies in the tower, pit steward, weigh shed, and of course our stewards.
It is so much easier when you work in a team with everybody pulling their weight.
Also, a big thank you to the Committee who work tirelessly for the benefit of us all.

At times I have gone down the dummy grid checking to see if the helmets are done up tight enough. I am sorry to say that the percentage of loose helmets is creeping up, especially on the younger drivers.
I would ask that parents and guardians regularly check this as the younger brigade to not understand the significance of loosening their helmets.

Happy Racing
Colleen Palenski
