Number Plates & Helmet Visor Decals: latest from Kartsport News

NUMBER PLATES

Please note below from latest kartsport.news:

Hi Everyone

Firstly I would like to thank all competitors. The standard of the engines presented in the Tech shed recently has been great, a few minor issues has occurred due to oversights, nothing that could be considered as cheating.

We still have some issues in Scrutineering where a number of karts are being rejected for fundamental items. These are being picked up at permitted events using the Scrutineering Declaration cards.
Due to the higher than expected rejects, the use of these cards is being reconsidered, and / or the percentage of random selection will be increased, until such time as we see a higher pass rate.

Number Plates
There appears to be a general misconception that due to the fact that we are now running transponders, the state of our numbers on the kart is now no longer important.
This is incorrect, we are still required under our existing rules to use Lap Scorers, and therefore the rules in relation to the kart numbers will be enforced.

Rule F14.3 specifies a font and size of the numerals
This must be FUTURA CONDENSED BOLD (Not Italics) Minimum height 120mm with 25mm minimum brushstroke.

FUTURA CONDENSED BOLD Is the only acceptable letter shape.

It is known that some kart shops are supplying numbers that are not the above font, it is the competitor’s responsibility to check this.

Rule F14.4  Plates
This specifies the position and size.
Numbers on side pods must be on a white background minimum size 190mm wide by 150mm high.

Rule F14.7 Any kart failing to comply with the instructions as set out may be disqualified and/ or may not be counted by the lap scorers.

HELMET VISOR DECALS

Hi Everyone

Insurance Consultants have requested that any older “KartSide NZI” helmet visor decals be replaced with the newer “KartSide Classic Cover’ helmet visor decals.

If you need stock of the “KartSide Classic Cover” decals please contact me by return.

NZI are no longer involved with the KartSide product.

Can Race Officials and Scrutineers also be made aware of this change.

Please destroy any stock you may have of the old “KartSide NZI” decals.

Many thanks

regards
