Reigning New Zealand and North Island Formula Junior champion Tim, 15, won both the Formula Junior and Junior 100cc Yamaha classes while older brother Richard, 20, won Open.
The pair did it in style too, Richard the man to beat in the combined Open/125cc Rotax Max Heavy field and Tim the driver to beat in both Formula Junior and Junior 100cc Yamaha.
In Formula Junior the younger Vickers sibling distinguished himself by winning the Final and five of the seven heats, and in the first came back to second from 10th after spinning as he tried a pass for the lead
He had a harder row to hoe in Junior 100cc Yamaha, particularly after seizing an engine in the first heat and being credited with 10th position, but he came back from that to take his second class victory from James Hadley.
Hadley scored more wins over the weekend, including the Final, but overall victory went to Vickers by two points with Daniel Kinsman a six points back in third.
Second in Formula Junior was William Bamber, third Tom Blomqvist.
In the other Senior classes Kane Taylor beat Richard Moore and Mason Armstrong to victory in 125cc Rotax Max Light, Michael Grimshaw won both Senior 100cc Yamaha Heavy and 125 cc Rotax Max Heavy (the latter from visiting Australian driver Tom Williamson), and Daniel Dufty got the better of both Mathew Kinsman and Tyler Richardson in Senior 100cc Yamaha Light.
Meanwhile in the other Junior classes, former Cadet class champion Aaron Wilson won Junior 100cc Yamaha Restricted from Paul Blomqvist and Shaun Grocock and Joel Herbert won Cadet from Kaitlyn Wonnacott and Rhys Tinney. |
